Ministries
When you think about it, Pocono Community happens each week because of people who work together to make the weekend a comfortable and inviting experience. When you go back to the New Testament and study the beginning of the local church, you will discover the same paradigm. In Acts 6, we read how the Apostles who led the church selected a team of people to take care of a specific ministry opportunity in the church - feeding the widows and their children. That’s the way a church has to function. The pastors lead the church by preaching, teaching and casting the vision. The members of the local church take on the responsibility of day-to-day ministry. At Pocono, our small pastoral staff depends on ministry teams to provide help in all the ministry areas.
I thank God every day for the dozens of volunteers who serve at Pocono Community. It makes it so much easier to focus on the weekend message when I know that all the other ministries are under the capable hands of volunteer leaders.
